There is a car photo on the screen, but you cannot see all of it.
The photo is split into six tiles and only one of them is open at the start.
Your job is to work out the brand and model from what you can see.
Every wrong guess opens one more tile; the clearer the photo gets, the easier it is —
but the fewer points you score.
Basic rules
- You get 6 guesses per car.
- 1 tile is open at the start. Each wrong guess opens another one.
- Which tile opens is random every round — sometimes a headlight, sometimes a wheel,
sometimes just sky. Luck is part of the game.
- As you type, matching models appear; you can pick one from the list.
- The dots in the top left show your remaining guesses: red ones are used up.
🗓️ Car of the Day
The same car for everyone, one try per day. Wherever you are in the world,
everyone guesses the same car that day. You get 6 guesses and can play once per day.
- Your result is saved; if you come back the same day you see your result, you cannot replay.
- Streak: Counts how many days in a row you got it. Miss a day or fail to
name the car and the streak resets.
- Sharing: You can share your result as a strip of squares showing how many
guesses it took — it does not give the answer away.
- A new car arrives at midnight; a countdown is shown on screen.
⚡ Quick Mode
How many cars can you name in 120 seconds? Cars come one after another
while the clock runs. Each correct answer adds +1 to your score and a new car appears at once.
- You can Skip a car you cannot place — time is precious, and moving on
is usually worth more than getting stuck.
- There is no penalty for a wrong guess, but every guess costs you seconds.
- When time is up you can save your score and see the list of cars you played.
Tip: Rushing and mistyping is the most common way to lose time in Quick Mode.
Typing the first few letters and picking from the list is usually faster.
🔍 Detail Mode
Here there is no clock — just one car and 100 points. First you have to
name the car, then you answer 9 questions about it.
- Naming the car: up to 28 points. Get it on the first guess and you score 28;
every guess you spend costs 4 points (24 on the second, 20 on the third, 8 on the last).
- Each correct answer: 8 points. 9 questions × 8 = 72 points.
- Total: 28 + 72 = 100 points.
- If you cannot name the car you score nothing for it, but the questions are still asked —
the round does not end and you keep learning.
At the end you see your score out of 100 and a breakdown of which questions you got right.
Which questions come up in Detail Mode?
Questions are drawn at random from 12 different types, so playing the same car again
gives you different questions:
- Fuel consumption — how many litres per 100 km? (you type a number)
- 0-100 acceleration — how many seconds? (you type a number)
- Top speed — how many km/h? (you type a number)
- Horsepower — how powerful is the engine? (4 options)
- Engine size — how many litres of displacement? (4 options)
- Production year — when did this series first appear? (4 options)
- Country of production — where is it mainly built? (4 options)
- Body style — hatchback, sedan, SUV, van, pickup? (4 options)
- Automotive group — which group does the brand belong to? (4 options)
- Comparisons — "Which one uses less fuel: X or Y?", against a random
other car (3 kinds)
- Range — for electric cars, how far on one charge? (replaces the fuel question)
You do not need to be exact on number questions. Within 20% counts as correct
for fuel and acceleration, within 15% for top speed. Knowing roughly is enough.
Tips
- Look at the headlights and grille. Most brands are recognisable by their
light signature, even when no badge is visible.
- Wheels and wheel arches tell you the body style: a high arch with plastic
cladding usually means SUV.
- The window line gives away whether it is a sedan or a hatchback.
- An empty tile is bad luck. If you get sky or tarmac, "spending" a guess to
open another tile can be smart — especially in Detail Mode, where losing 4 points beats
missing the car completely.
- Use logic on number questions: a 1.0-litre engine will not make 300 hp,
and a two-tonne SUV will not hit 100 km/h in 4 seconds. That alone rules out options.
Where are scores stored?
The leaderboard lives only on your own device; the top 10 scores are kept
separately for each mode. Scores are never sent to a server and there is no shared ranking
between players. Clearing your browser data also clears your scores.
See the privacy policy for details.
Frequently asked
Can the same car come up twice?
Not within one game. No car repeats until all 102 models have appeared.
How accurate are the technical figures?
Fuel, acceleration, power and top speed are the manufacturer's typical figures and
vary by engine and trim, which is why number questions have a generous tolerance.
Production year, country, body style and automotive group are exact.
Will more cars be added?
Yes, the model list keeps growing.
Is it free?
Yes. No sign-up, no app to install — it runs in your browser.
